Raudram - Shoots from today

Even though the biggest festival of Kerala Onam is just a week away, the Malayalam superstar Mammootty has no time to spare to take a long rest. Just having completed 'Nasraani' the film which was originally planned for Onam, the star will join the sets of Raudram in a day.

The film which starts its shooting today is produced by Marikkar films and directed by Renji Panikkar. The scriptwriter turned director, has been taking a long break of two years after his maiden venture in direction 'BharathChandran I P S' which brought back Suresh Gopi again to the limelight. Raudram is said to be a potpourri of satirical events that occurred in the Kerala social and political atmosphere, this year.

Ore Kadal for August 26

As the filmy viewers are looking all around to find anything to watch for Onam, film producers are seemingly thinking different. They are planning to reschedule their release dates of films so that the viewers get some time for their Onam shopping. Many producers came into this notion because they still believe that 'Alibhai' the first Onam release on 15th of this month, started fainting due to this Onam rush and not because of the films demerits.

These surprising findings have shifted the dates of one more film 'Ore Kadal' with Mammootty to the 26th of this month that is the first Onam day. The film will now open in 36 centers on the same day. But according to the ordinary viewer, the film producers have lost a guaranteed few days run with hundred percent collections, by shifting the release dates. And ‘Alibhai’ is benefiting from the late releases as the viewers who are not much interested to watch the film due to its bad mouth publicity, still have to see the film as no other chances are opening before them till Onam.

Mammootty and Mukesh With Sreenivasan’s film

The shooting of the new film produced by Sreenivasan and Mukesh with Mammootty in the lead role will begin in October.The casts also include Mukesh, Sreenivasan, Jagadheesh and many others. The story, screen play and dialogues are by Sreenivasan and directed by Mohan. Sreenivasan is on a high after a stupendous hit in Arabikatha. Ore Kadal for Onam

It is unlikely that Mammootty's Nasrani would make its way to the theatres this Onam.

However the good news for Mammootty fans is that the director Shyam Prasad's Ore Kadal starring Mammootty and Meera Jasmine will be released this festive occasion.

Ore Kadal is a movie with a difference. Like most other Shyam Prasad films, this one too will have a powerful story and extremely good performances from the lead actors.

Mammootty plays the role of a writer and Meera Jasmine plays the role of a woman who is married to another man, Narain.
